When it came time a few years ago to buy a home VOIP service I went with Verizon's VoiceWing on the idea that Verizon was a more stable long-term service provider than Vonage. Today I got a letter from Verizon informing me that it was shutting down VoiceWing effective March 31st. So Vonage wins after-all (of course there is still Delta Three which Verizon resold as VoiceWing in the first place).

Vonage is holding in there I guess, but thanks to Verizon, it's a much weaker company than it would otherwise have been. I've had it for 4 years, during which time it's been great. Customer service recently was good too - I was surprised, as most folks have horror stories from their contact with VG cust service.
