Challenges, and also the progress that has been made. Email-to-voice and voice-to-email, to name just two, are completely realizable, and you don't need much training or advanced degrees to use this technology. Obviously mobile devices have helped make UC very desirable. The final missing piece, Presence, is now being provided by SIP vendors and some service providers. Find-me lists are workable, but knowing the exact on-line status, device type and modalities, and having just one SIP contact address, will speed adoption of UC by both businesses and consumers.
